What this site stores.

Almost nothing, as it happens. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. One preference is kept in your browser so the site remembers whether you like it light or dark. That is the entire story — the rest of this page is the detail, and what would change if that ever does.

Most cookie policies are long because there is a lot to disclose. This one is short for the opposite reason.

01

The short answer

As at 9 October 2026

This website sets no cookies. It contains no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising tags and no third-party measurement scripts of any kind. Nothing on it profiles you, follows you between sites, or reports your visit to anyone.

One item is stored in your browser's local storage: a single value recording whether you chose the light or dark appearance. One more is kept only for the length of your visit: a note that you have already seen the home page's opening animation. Neither leaves your device.

The early-access sign-up form sets no cookie and loads no third-party script. It sends what you type to our email provider, MailerLite, only when you press its button — see section 03.

We would rather say this plainly than pad it out. If that changes — and it may, since a product in development eventually needs to understand how it is used — this page will be updated before anything goes live, and consent will be requested first where the law requires it.

02

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, and which the browser sends back on later visits. It is how a site recognises that two visits came from the same browser.

Cookies are not the only mechanism of this kind, and a policy that only mentioned cookies would be misleading. The related technologies:

  • Local storage — data kept in your browser that, unlike a cookie, is not automatically sent to the server. This site uses it for one preference.
  • Session storage — the same idea, but cleared when you close the tab. This site uses it for one note, described in section 03.
  • Pixels and beacons — a tiny invisible image or script whose only purpose is to report that you loaded a page. None here.
  • Device and browser fingerprinting — identifying a visitor from the characteristics of their browser rather than from stored data. Not used, and not planned.
  • Software development kits (SDKs) — the equivalent inside a mobile app. Relevant to the Companion App when it is released, not to this website.

A first-party cookie is set by the site you are visiting. A third-party cookie is set by another company whose code the site has embedded — and it is third-party cookies that do most of the cross-site tracking people object to.

What is stored today

The complete inventory for this website, in full:

daoasis-theme
Functional
Stores whether you chose the light or dark appearance, so the site opens the way you left it. Its value is the single word light or dark. It contains nothing that identifies you.
Type
Local storage, first-party
Sent to a server
No — never leaves your device
Expires
When you clear your browser data
Consent needed
No — strictly a preference you set
daoasis-intro-seen
Functional
Records that the home page's opening animation has already played in this browser tab, so it is not shown again on every return to the home page during the same visit. Its value is the single character 1. It contains nothing that identifies you.
Type
Session storage, first-party
Sent to a server
No — never leaves your device
Expires
When you close the tab or browser
Consent needed
No — it only changes how the page plays

That is the entire list. There is no third entry.

Three things that are not us

The early-access sign-up. When you press the button on the sign-up form, the email address, optional first name and interests you entered are sent to MailerLite, the email service we use to run the early-access list. Nothing is sent before you press it, no MailerLite script is loaded on this site, and no cookie is set. What happens to those details is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Web fonts. This site loads its typefaces — Cormorant Garamond and Frank Ruhl Libre — from Google Fonts. That request goes to Google's servers and Google may log it as an ordinary server request. No cookie is set by it, and it is not used to track you across sites. It is a genuine third-party request, so it is disclosed here rather than passed over.

Hosting. Serving a web page requires a server to receive the request. Our hosting provider may process ordinary request information — such as IP address and the page requested — in order to deliver the site and keep it secure. That is infrastructure rather than tracking, but it is processing, so it is stated.

04

Categories and what they mean

These are the standard categories, with an honest statement of what DAOasis uses each for today. Naming them now means that if one is ever introduced, you can see exactly what changed.

Strictly necessary
None in use
Required for a site to work at all — security, load balancing, keeping you logged in. This website has no login and needs none. The Companion App will need them.
Functional
One in use
Remember choices you made, so the site behaves the way you set it. The appearance preference in section 03 is the only one.
Analytics and performance
None in use
Measure how a site is used — pages viewed, features used, where people leave. DAOasis uses none today. If analytics are introduced, this page will name the provider and the category before they go live.
Marketing and advertising
None in use, none planned
Build a profile of your interests to target advertising, usually across many sites. DAOasis does not use these, and does not intend to. Personal wellness information is never going to be used for advertising targeting.
Social media
None in use
Set by embedded social widgets and share buttons, which typically track you whether or not you click them. There are no social embeds on this site.
05

Third-party cookies

No third party sets a cookie through this website. There is no embedded video player, no social widget, no chat widget, no advertising network and no analytics provider in it.

The one third-party request the site makes is for its web fonts, described in section 03.

If you follow a link from DAOasis to another company's website, that site's own cookies and policies apply from the moment you arrive. We have no control over them, and no visibility of them.

06

Managing cookies

Since this site sets no cookies, there is nothing here to refuse. The controls below matter for the web generally, and will matter here if this page ever changes.

Clearing the one thing we do store

To remove the appearance preference, clear site data for this website in your browser settings, or use your browser's private browsing mode, in which nothing persists after you close the window. Removing it simply means the site opens in its default dark appearance next time.

Browser controls

Every major browser lets you view and delete stored data, block third-party cookies, block all cookies, and clear everything when you close it. These settings are found under Privacy, Security or Site settings, depending on the browser. Because those menus move between versions, we would rather point you to your browser's own current help pages than print instructions here that will be wrong within a year.

Blocking all cookies and local storage will break many websites. On this one, the only effect is that your appearance choice is forgotten.

Wider controls

Your browser may also offer a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. This site does no tracking for those signals to switch off, so they make no difference here — but they are worth having switched on generally.

07

Consent

In many jurisdictions — including the UK and the EU — a website must obtain consent before setting anything that is not strictly necessary, and must make refusing as easy as accepting.

This website does not currently display a cookie banner, and does not currently need one, because it sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The stored items are a preference you set yourself by using the appearance control and a session-only note about the opening animation, which are the kind of thing consent requirements are designed to permit. The early-access form is something you choose to submit, not a tracking technology; agreeing to be emailed is part of that form, and is covered in the Privacy Policy.

There is no consent management platform on this site. That is an accurate reflection of there being nothing to consent to, rather than a gap. If analytics or any non-essential technology is introduced, a compliant consent mechanism will be implemented before it goes live — with genuine choice, refusal as easy as acceptance, and the ability to change your mind later. Status: Consent mechanism required before any analytics are added.

In plain terms

No banner, because there is nothing to ask you about. When there is, you will be asked properly.

08

Changes and contact

This page carries the date it was last updated. It will be revised whenever what the site stores changes — and in particular before any analytics or non-essential technology is introduced, not after.

The Companion App is a separate matter. When it is released, it will disclose its own storage and SDKs, and this page will be updated to cover it.

Questions about this page can go to info@daoasis.xyz, or through the Contact page. Broader questions about information handling are covered in the Privacy Policy.

A note on this page

This page describes what the DAOasis website stores as at the date above, verified against the site's own source rather than assumed. Nothing here is legal advice. If you find something on this site that contradicts this page, that is a bug worth reporting — please tell us.

DAOasis Global Ltd, registered in the United Kingdom, is the legal entity behind DAOasis and behind this page. Its company number and registered office are on the public register at Companies House. Group companies in the British Virgin Islands and Thailand are planned once DAOasis is operational; until then every agreement, payment and notice runs through the UK company.
